[the time it takes for light from the object to reach an observer on Earth.] 이렇게 문장을 끊는 게 이해가 쉬울 듯해요. 여기서 It은 따로 의미가 없다고 보시면 돼요. 예를 들어, 'It takes 5 minutes to get there.' 거기 도착하는데에 5분이 걸려, 에서 처럼요. 그니까, 위 부분은 '빛이 물체로부터 지구의 관찰자에게까지 도달하는 시간'이라고 해석되네용. reach 는 도달하다, 라는 의미잖아요. '빛' 즉 light에 걸리는 동사입니다. | ||
